Archivo Federal is an initiative of the SIGMA Federation whose main objective is to archive, document and preserve the history of the origin and transformation of the cyber-universe, the universe of computing and involved telecommunication. It arises from the fusion of the archiving sectors of the former SIGMA repartitions.

The digital archiving and preservation service of the SIGMA Federation is a distributed content storage and syndication organism, which comprises a network of physical storage units. To ensure that this knowledge is and will be available to future generations, SIGMA also invests in the study and development of ways to always make the content accessible, despite technological age.
